Bollington Brass Band

The present band was brought to life by Dr John Coope in the 1960's. The band has progressed steadily through the sections since they first gained promotion from the fourth section to the third in 1988.

Further promotions followed to the second section in 1993 and to the first section in 2003 before the final promotion to the top level in 2011 under the leadership of Peter Christian.

From 2012 onwards the band have competed against the likes of Fairey's and Foden's and other well known bands often regarded as the finest in the world.

Bollington also has an active "B" Band with members of all ages performing many concerts throughout the year.  The band rehearse on Monday and Thursday evenings 8-10pm at the Bollington Methodist Church. The band is enturely self supporting, relying  on concert income. They also host a charity concern each year and donate all the proceeds which usually amounts to almost £2000.

Threre are a number of band recordings on YouTube which show how good this band have become. One is attached below from the Buxton Festival of Brass at which they won first prize. If you would like to become a patron of the band click on the photograph above to access the Bollington Brass Band Website.
