Council Notice Boards

The Town Council has 5 locked covered notice boards throughout the Town. These are primarily to keep Bollington residents informed of Council Business and Council related matters which we think would be of interest. However where space permits we do give the opportunity to local organisations to display their posters and advertise their events. We do not offer space for business advertising in these boards. If you have a local business you wish to publicise then you can do so on our website via our business database.

At busy times of year the amount of posters which arrive at the Town Hall can far outweigh the space available so it may not be possible to display every poster in every board or keep them up for more than a week. They are changed on a weekly basis, usually Wednesday afternoons and staff do their best to be fair with the display time given for each event. If you wish to display posters in the boards please drop them off at the Town Hall or get in touch for more information. To help us use the boards to their maximum capacity please limit your poster to A4 MAXIMUM and if you have several events coming up try to keep them to one or two posters rather than a handful. Also most of the boards are designed to take posters in portait format and landscape posters can be difficult to fit in properly. Finally the Town Council politely requests that you do not stick posters on the outsides of the boards - this looks unsightly, causes damage and prevents people from seeing posters which have been legitimately displayed. Any found on the outside will be removed and destroyed.

Town Hall Board

Situated outside the Town Hall facing onto the main road.

Pool Bank Board

Situated on the left hand side as you enter Pool Bank Car Park. This one has a central map and features places to visit.

Kerridge Board

This is situated at the Bulls Head Pub on Oak Lane, near the Redway junction.

Bollington Cross Board

This is situated near to the general store on Bollington Road, opposite the Cock and Pheasant pub.

Grimshaw Lane Board

The Grimshaw Lane board is attached to the wall of the corner shop on Greenfield Road. The smallest of the board, this is the only one which uses magnetic strips to secure the posters and this is less effective if the posters are laminated.

Although people do stop to look at our boards whilst on foot many people are simply driving past and in this modern age physical posters are not always the best way to advertise an event. If you wish to be included in the What's On publication please submit details to us via email or telephone 01625 572985. To have your event listed in the website What's On section please email details, preferably attaching a picture or poster for us to use.
