B5470 Macclesfield Road, Rainow closure
The B5470 Macclesfield Road (Rainow) road closure is due to a collapsed embankment.
On 16th June, CEC Highways will conduct intrusive geotechnical investigations, including drilling boreholes up to 20 metres deep, with an expected duration on site of 1 week. This is essential for understanding ground conditions and ensuring a safe, efficient structural design for the embankment repairs.
The road closure will in place while investigations continue and whilst the design is completed.
