Where would we be – without ‘Vitamin-T’

SciBar is science in a bar – an invited speaker gives a talk on a scientific topic while people enjoy a drink or meal, with a Q& A afterwards. Bollington SciBar takes place at the Vale Inn in Bollington.

May’s talk is about recent research which has discovered a novel class of gentle touch sensitive nerves in the skin, that code for the ‘pleasure’ of touch – not the touch we sense, but the touch we feel!. The speaker hopes to convince you these are as important to our mental wellbeing as Vitamin-D is to our physical wellbeing.

Professor Francis McGlone is a neuroscientist from Liverpool John Moores University.

Talk on Monday 13 May, beginning at 6.30pm. All welcome, no charge. Details at bollingtonscibar.co.uk
