Bollington Walking Festival – The Mayor’s Boundary Walk
Bollington’s traditional annual Town Mayor’s Boundary walk will take place this year on Sunday 26th September as part of Bollington’s 11th Walking Festival. This is a circular walk starting at 10am from Bollington Town Hall. The walk is approximately 8 miles long and includes some hill walking, so suitable footwear will be required. Please bring a packed lunch as there will be a lunch stop. Download a printable leaflet for the Walking Festival or get a printed leaflet from the Bridgend Centre.
As the Boundary Walk couldn’t take place last year the Town Mayor, Cllr. Johanna Maitland, will be joined by last year’s Mayor and this year’s Deputy Mayor, Cllr. John Stewart.
The idea of boundary walks dates back many centuries, to when parish boundaries were less defined, and were used as a way of passing information about the parish boundaries from one generation to the next and we are proud to uphold that tradition.
