Bollington Remembrance Parade and Service

We are expecting the usual fantastic turn out on Sunday 12th November for the Remembrance Day Parade, led by Bollington Brass Band from the Bollington Recreation Ground to the Memorial Gardens.

The Memorial Service will start at 10.55am. Everyone welcome.

Participants in the Parade will start congregating in the Recreation Ground Car Park at about 10.00am and the Parade will set off at about 10.40am to arrive at the Memorial Garden at about 10.50am. Adlington Road will be closed from 10.00am-10.45am to allow the safe assembly of participants.

After the memorial service at about 11.30am the Parade will leave the Gardens and proceed back to Adlington Road with a short pause to take the salute outside the Civic Hall arriving back at the Recreation Ground Car Park at 11.45am.  Adlington Road will again be closed from 11.30 - 12 noon for the return of the parade. This will also help to avoid gridlock as vehicles leave from the Recreation Ground Car Park.  During the parade's passage along Palmerston Street there will be a rolling road block which will prevent traffic coming into contact with the parade. This will mean cars will be temporarily held back in front and behind the parade and on side roads such as Hurst Lane until the parade passes by.

We hope this will not inconvenience residents too much and they will be able to arrange their own travel plans accordingly. Advanced signage on all approach roads will be erected to warn of traffic disruption.

Everyone is of course very welcome to join the parade.
