A celebration of Christmas with Carols with soloists from the Choir and Rosalind Hall, Piano

Oratorio de Noël

Camille Saint-Saëns

Inspired by Bach’s Cantatas, the composer famed for his Carnival of the Animals and Organ Symphony tells the Christmas story in a delightful, lyrical work setting a Latin text, with solos, ensembles and choruses.

La Cloche de Noël

Donald Judge

Inspired by Jean-Jacques Ampère’s poem which translates as The Christmas Bell and a famous painting by Vincent van Gogh, this brand new piece contrasts conflicting emotions from despair to joy. Carols with a French flavour sung in English complete a celebration of Christmas.
