Events at Bollington Library

The following events are on at Bollington Library in September 2019

The Children’s Summer Reading Challenge is coming to an end on Saturday 7th September.

The theme this year is Space Chase. All children have to do is read 6 Library books and visit the library regularly over the Summer, collecting special incentives along the way.

 

Tuesday 3rd September: Morning and Evening Library Reading Group.

11am and 6pm respectively . Contact the library for more information about joining the group.

 

Thursday 5th September: Story and Tea for Adults,  2pm – 3pm.

Join us for reading and refreshments and share your love of books. No Charge, all adults welcome. 

 

Tuesday 10th  September: Children’s Home Ed. Lego Club,  11am-12noon.

No Charge, drop in.

 

Tuesday 10th September: Children’s Lego Club,  4pm-5pm.

No Charge, drop in

 

Thursday 12th   & 26th September:  Knit and Natter, 2pm-4pm.

Drop in. (2nd & 4th Thursday of the month)

 

Friday 13thSeptember: Children’s Book Club, 3.45pm-4.45pm.

First meeting after the school holidays – bring a book you have read during the summer to talk about.  Age 7 years+.  Spaces available, just ask for more information.

 

Tuesday 17th September: Morning and Evening Library Reading Group.

11am and 6pm respectively . Contact the library for more information about joining the group.

 

Tuesday 24th September: Going on a Bear Hunt, 10am.  No need to book, £2 per child. 

This is part of the Bollington Walking Festival.  Suitable for toddlers and pre-schoolers.  Have a story in the library, go on a Bear Hunt at the Rec and back to the Library for refreshments.

 

Tuesday 1st October:  Children’s Mini Makers Coding Club, Home Ed, 1.30pm-2.30pm and After School, 4pm-5pm.

Suitable for children aged 7-11 who have an interest in trying out different STEM activities in a fun environment.  

Activities will include build challenges, crafting, coding and much more. Places are FREE but limited, so book in advance.

 

As with all our children’s events, children must be accompanied by an adult.

 

Children’s Regular Weekly Events: Storytime at 10am on Tuesdays and Rhyme Time at 10am on Wednesdays and Fridays.  Suitable for babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers these sessions are free. These will continue during school holidays.

 

For a small charge, we can also offer one to one IT Buddy Tuition and Family History using Ancestry.com and Find My Past. Contact the library for more details, if interested.
