Enlightening Novels with Jose Spinks

When: 16:00 18th September 2019 – 18:00 18th September 2019

This is a 10 week course starting 18th September at the Arts Centre.

We will study the craft and achievements of novelists from the 18th, 19th, 20th and 21st centuries. We will be tracing the evolution of each novel.
The aim of this class is to enjoy together a variety of novels and try to appreciate how each "works"
 
In each case we will consider a writer's craft as well as content
Students will gain confidence in use of the skills and language of formal literary appreciation.
 
The novels to be studied are:

Pamela,Samuel Richardson;

Miss Pettigrew Lives For A Day, Winifred Watson;

A Place Called Winter, Patrick Gale

There are no formal tests or exams and no one will be obliged to read aloud.
