Local elections

Of the 12 seats on Bollington Town Council, 3 are currently vacant. Residents of our Central and East Wards will be going to the polls on Thursday next week (13th March) to elect 1 new councillor for each of those wards. We shall then have 1 vacancy remaining – and so this week a formal Notice of Election will be issued for a further election for East Ward on Thursday 10th April.
Dealing with all 3 vacancies in just one election day would of course have been simpler – but we have to comply with the way electoral law works in relation to the different dates when the seats became vacant.
