Face Coverings to be Mandatory in Shops from Friday 24th July
The Government has issued new Regulations regarding the wearing of Face Coverings in Shops from Friday 24th July.
Please do not forget to take your face covering with you when you go shopping and please don't make the staff have to ask you to put it on before you enter the shop.
It may take some getting used to so we urge everyone to be patient with each other while this becomes yet another "new normal"
Non-medical disposable and reusable face masks do again seem to be in the shops but you can make you own and there is a lot of guidance online. This BBC page had some good ideas but there are plenty out there if you do a search.
There are some exceptions and these can be found here
Please be supportive of people who are exempt. It will not always be obvious to other people the difficulties wearing a face covering would cause.
Help for those who are Exempt
If you are exempt for any of the reasons listed in the guidance you may wish to buy or print an exemption card which explains the reason for the exemption, so that you don't have to.
Hidden Disabilities, the people that make and supply the sunflower lanyards that help explain hidden
disabilities, have now come up with face covering exemption cards.
If a medical condition, disability or other issue means you can’t wear a face covering or mask, you can send off for a card that explains it and fits in a standard lanyard, for just 55p
You can download print at home cards from Keepsake.org, or if you prefer have a version to display on your Smartphone screen.
