Get Safe Online Community Awareness Training

Cheshire East Council has partnered with Get Safe Online to educate Cheshire East residents in the area of online safety and security. Get Safe Online are the UK’s leading source of unbiased and easy-to-understand information on online safety.

Cybercrime is one of the fastest growing crimes, with new scams and threats coming online every day. There were an estimated 5 million cases of computer misuse and fraud reported last year. That accounts for almost half of all of the crimes reported in England and Wales in 2017. Unfortunately, it is the most vulnerable people in our communities that are more susceptible to scams.

Are you working/volunteering in the communities of Cheshire East or interested in doing so? Are you a resident who would like to gain more knowledge and pass it on to relatives, friends or neighbours? The free training will provide you with simple information to help keep yourself and your communities safe through topics such as: creating secure passwords, shopping and banking online securely, social media, and how to prevent and report fraud, identity theft and abuse.
