Bollington Library

Tuesday 19th February to Saturday 23rd

(Half Term Week): Children’s Treasure Hunt around the library. No charge, drop in during Library hours.

Thursday 21st February: Children’s Drop in Lego, 10-4pm.

No charge, drop in.

Tuesday 26th February: New! Children’s Mini Makers Coding Club, 4-5.30pm.

Suitable for children aged 7-11 who have an interest in trying out different STEM activities in a fun environment.

Activities will include build challenges, crafting, coding and much more. Places are FREE but limited, so book in advance.

As with all our children’s events, children must be accompanied by an adult.

Children’s Regular Weekly Events: Story Time at 10am on Tuesdays and Rhyme Time at 10am on Wednesdays and Fridays. Suitable for babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers these sessions are free.

Macclesfield Museums

Marianne Brocklehurst's Adventures in Egypt Open Day Saturday 16th Feb 10.30am – 4pm.

A display shedding new light on Macclesfield’s Ancient Egyptian treasures including the Tutankhamun Ring & Family Open Day.

Come and see the unique diary and notebooks that Marianne Brocklehurst made of her incredible adventures.

Learn more about the Tutankhamun Ring and other amazing treasures in the collections.

There’s free Family Activities, 3D printing and tours of the Silk Museum, and lots of delicious cake!

Visit Paradise Mill and step back into 1930's industrial Macclesfield. Take a tour with one of our knowledgeable tour guides and discover a typical day at the Mill. See 26 restored Jacquard looms and watch as they weave their magic!

Please be aware that entrance to Paradise Mill is by guided tour only - tours run 11.45am, 1pm and 2.15pm (Monday to Saturday) and 1pm and 2.15pm on Bank Holiday Mondays.

Due to regulations we can only take a certain number of people on tours in Paradise Mill. We often have large groups visiting us and it is best to check which tours are available before planning a visit.

Under 7s – Get Set, Blast Off! (Under 7s sessions)

Saturday 16th – Friday 22nd February
1pm (weekend) 11am and 1pm (weekdays)

Join us on a fun-filled rocket trip into space, exploring the solar system and playing lots of games along the way.

Sessions last around 20 minutes and are designed for children aged 7 and under.

Free with general admission.

Science Show: Out of this World

Do you think you’re smarter than a 10 year old? In our Out of this World science show we challenge children and adults to go head-to-head and show off their knowledge of all things space. Which of our exciting experiments you will see depends on who’s rocketing to the right answers.

Our fun and interactive, family friendly science shows last for 30-40 minutes. They are aimed at adults and children aged 7+

Telescope Walking Tours

Saturday 16th – Friday 22nd February
11:45am and 3:15pm

Join one of Jodrell Bank’s popular Telescope Walking Tours as a friendly Explainer takes you for a stroll around the base of the impressive Lovell Telescope.

You’ll find out more about how the Grade 1 listed Telescope works, explore its fascinating history and discover some of its ground-breaking research.

Walking Tours last around 45 minutes, will take place indoors if wet, are available on a drop-in basis and are free with general admission. Talks are aimed at adults and children aged 10+

Meet the Expert

Monday 18th – Friday 22nd February , 1pm

Here’s your chance to meet one of our resident science and astronomy experts. You’ll learn all about their work, plus have a chance to ask the space questions you’ve always wanted to ask!

Suitable for adults and children aged 10+

Multisports Courses at Club AZ

ClubAZ - Mulberry's and Hulleys at AstraZeneca
These are very popular multi-sport camps for boys and girls aged 4-14. ClubAZ Mulberry's is in Alderley Edge and ClubAZ Hulley's is in Macclesfield. Both camps have been excellently attended for the past two decades.

Places are limited, based on a first-come first-served basis, so please book early to avoid disappointment. The course starts at 9am and finishes at 5pm. As multi-sport suggests, the children will partake in a huge variety of sports and fun games. There will also be inflatables, crafts and loads more exciting activities. Below are the dates for courses at AstraZeneca for the current year.

5 DAYS = £90.00
4 DAYS = £75.00
3 DAYS = £60.00
2 DAYS = £40.00
1 DAY = £20.00
