Time to Talk Drop in Sessions CANCELLED
Update from Dementia Friends:
- Please let everyone in your networks know that we are still here for anyone affected by dementia. Our Dementia Connect Support Line remains open on 0333 150 3456. We are open every day and are exploring ways we can continue to extend the hours we’re available. For up to date information on dementia and our services, please visit our website or follow Alzheimer’s Society on Facebook or Twitter.
- Talking Point our online community can be accessed online for free, night or day, via the Alzheimer’s Society website. It’s a fantastic way to connect with other people affected by dementia, share personal experience and receive valuable support.
- We are currently investigating ways of supporting Champions to deliver Dementia Friends Information Sessions remotely. This could be via video calling, live streaming or online webinar platforms. We’ll be in contact with more information about this soon. If this is your area of expertise, we’d love to hear from you!
We ask that Champions don’t adapt the Information Session for online delivery without consulting their Dementia Friends Officer first. We are working to provide you with guidance and standardized resources to ensure message consistency.
- We are working with our colleagues across the Society to pull together a list of simple actions that anyone can take to support people affected by dementia. We are particularly focusing on social isolation; we know many people affected by dementia will be self-isolating and know how challenging this may be. Alzheimer’s Society has already created a new fact sheet Coronavirus: Information for people affected by dementia.
