Vacancy for a Bollington Town Councillor in Central Ward

A vacancy has arisen for a Town Councillor in the Central Ward of Bollington Town Council.

The notice of the legally termed "Casual Vacancy" is below.

If 10 electors from Central Ward request that an election be held, either individually or collectively, Cheshire East Council's Returning Officer will be obliged to call an election.

The closing date for all such election requests to be with Cheshire East Council's Returning Officer is the 8th October.

A form for 10 electors collectively to download, complete and return to Cheshire East Council's Returning Officer can be found by clicking HERE. Individual electors can request an election by writing to or emailing their request to Cheshire East' Council's Returning Officer. The address is shown on the Notice below. All such election requests must come from Central Ward electors. A map showing Central Ward can be accessed by clicking HERE

PLEASE NOTE: All persons requesting an election should be aware that such an election cannot be held because of the COVID-19 regultations until May 2021 as the Notice below makes clear

In the absence of a call for an election, the Town Council will carry out a transparent co-option process over the next 2 months for the people who apply

The notice below is also on the Town Council's 5 notice boards around the Town and will be on Facebook and Twitter.
