Wellington Road Bollington Christmas Lights Switch On Road Closure Sunday 1st December 4.30- 7.00pm

The annual Christmas Lights Switch On will take place on Sunday 1st December 4.30pm - 7.00pm outside the Town Hall on Wellington Road.

For those who have experienced it in the past Wellington Road will be closed from the Middlewood Way Viaduct to Adlington Road. As such there will be no through road for traffic during this period except for emergency vehicles. Access will be maintained for the Co-op but only from the westerly (Macclesfield) direction. Advanced signage will be in place to warn traffic of the closure on routes into the Town.

This year, Cheshire East Council has required us to notify the official diversion routes for traffic during the event, which when coming from the West to reach the East of the Town should use the A523 then right onto Brookledge Lane (Leigh Arms junction),then right again at Pott Shrigley Church and down Shrigley Road. Traffic coming from the West to reach the East of the Town should travel in the reverse direction via Pott Shrighey Church, Brookledge Lane and the A523.

Cheshire East Highways make the point that this route can cope with the volumes of traffic involved safetly and with less disruption on Bollington's narrow streets.
