The Town Council hosted a presentation and a public meeting on Wednesday 3rd October at Bollington Cross School at 7.30pm to discuss proposals by Cheshire East Council to allow 79 dwellings to be built on 4 local greenbelt sites between now and the year 2030.

The meeting was very well attended with about 130 people present .

The central aims of the meeting was for the Town Council to provide an overview of what was being proposed by Cheshire East, to have studied in detail the Site Allocations and Development Proposals Document (SADPD) and to provide a critique for the meeting of its proposals and highlight the issues of concern for Bollington.

The Town Council intends to host an extraordinary Council meeting at the Bollington Town Hall on15th October at 7pm to refine its submission to Cheshire East based on feedback from the Public Meeting. Members of the public are welcome to attend the Council Meeting but the space in the Council Chamber is limited to about 40 people.

It is important that everyone who wishes to make comments to Cheshire East before the 22nd October deadline has the opportunity to do so. There was concern at the meeting that many people in Bollington may not be aware of the issues and the need to make representation even though the information was on the Town Council's Website, Facebook, Twitter and on the Town Council's noticeboards. The meeting felt that the Town Council needed to do more to inform and to guide individuals on how to respond.

In view of this, the Town Council has prepared an A4 (folded to A5) Issues flyer. 3200 copies will have been priinted and available for collection from Bollington Town Hall on Monday afternoon 8th Octobert at 3pm. Volunteers will deliver these to all Bollington's Homes. The Issue Flyers contains bullet points which detail the impact of these proposals on Bollington and which can form a basis for a resident's response to Cheshire East .
