Notice of Election – East Ward

Statement as to Persons Nominated

1. An election is to be held for one town councillor for the Bollington Town Council – East Ward.

2. Nomination papers must be hand-delivered to the Returning Officer, Elections Office, Macclesfield Town Hall, Market Place, Macclesfield, Cheshire, SK10 1EA, on any day from the date of publication of this notice; Monday to Friday between the hours of 10.00am and 4.00pm (excluding bank holidays) but not later than 4.00pm on Friday 14 March 2025.  Please telephone 01270 685922 to make an appointment to deliver your nomination paper.

3. Nomination papers may be obtained in person from the Returning Officer, Elections Office, Macclesfield Town Hall, Market Place, Macclesfield, Cheshire, SK10 1EA, between the dates and times stated in paragraph 2 above.  Written requests for nomination papers must be posted to our postal address: Elections Office, Ground Floor, Macclesfield Town Hall, Cheshire East Borough Council, Delamere House, Delamere Street, Crewe, CW1 2LL.

4. If the election is contested, the poll will take place on Thursday 10 April 2025 between the hours of 7.00am and 10.00pm.

5. Applications to register to vote must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 12 midnight on Tuesday 25 March 2025.  Applications can be made online.

6. Electors and their proxies should take note that:

a)   Any changes to, or cancellations of, existing postal or proxy vote records, must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by no later than 5.00pm on Wednesday 26 March if they are to be effective for this election.

b)   New applications to be treated as postal voters, must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by no later than 5.00pm on Wednesday 26 March if they are to be effective for this election.  Applications for a new postal vote can be made by way of paper application or online.

c)   New applications for proxy voting arrangements must reach the Electoral Registration Officer, by no later than 5.00pm on Wednesday 2 April if they are to be effective for this election.  Applications for a new proxy vote can be made by way of a paper application form and in certain circumstances applications for a new proxy vote can be made online.

7. Applications for a Voter Authority Certificate or an Anonymous Elector’s Document valid for this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 5.00pm on Wednesday 2 AprilApplications can be made online.

8. Applications to vote by emergency proxy at this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by no later than 5.00pm on Thursday 10 April 2025 if they are to be effective for this election.
