NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Cheshire East Borough Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers issues this notice temporarily to prohibit traffic in the following length of road:-

Grimshaw LaneBollington WardMacclesfieldSK10 5 from the junction with Fields Close to the junction with Bamford Close.

The alternative route will be via the following streets: – Grimshaw Lane, Wellington Road, Palmerston Street, Round Gardens, Church Street, Lord Street, Chancery Lane

Pedestrian / cyclist access to any premises situated within the temporary closure will be maintained at all times. Vehicular access will be maintained for emergency vehicles and residents where possible
The closure is necessary for works to be carried out by Cheshire East Highways.
It is anticipated that the works will take place on the following date(s): Monday 13th December 2021 to Wednesday 15th December 2021.
This notice will become operative on Monday 13th December 2021 for a period of 5 days or for such less time as is necessary to enable the works to be completed.

Information for Residents from Cheshire East Highways

What is happening

We are pleased to inform you that we will be carrying out carriageway improvements works along Grimshaw Lane, Bollington and will take approximatley 2 days to complete, commencing on 13th December 2021 (excluding weekends).

We understand there is no right time to undertake this work however, the scheme has been carefully planned to minimise disruption to local residents, businesses and members of the travelling public.

Please ensure that no vehicles are parked along Grimshaw Lane, Bollington when works are scheduled to proceed.

When it’s happening

The works are programmed to begin on 13th December 2021, between the hours of 09:30 – 14:30.

Please note that occasionally the works have to be changed at short notice due to unforeseen circumstances such as adverse weather conditions or logistics.

Under current Health & Safety legislation and for the safety of our workforce and members of the public, it will be necessary for a road closure to be in place during the works.

What you can expect

  •  Signage mobilised on street in advance of the work starting
  • Our team working on the carriageway
  • Machinery and vehicles
  • Barriered areas to create safe working zones, in line with current Health & Safety legislation
  • ‘Business open as usual’, ‘Road Closed Ahead/Diversion’ and ‘Cyclist dismount’ signs

Access to your property or business

We aim to minimise disruption to local residents and business owners whilst we deliver these improvements. We will make every effort to maintain vehicular access to your property or business however, it is inevitable that some inconvenience will occur and there may be periods of time when point of entry  will vary. If you have any specific access requirements, please raise these with our on site supervisor at the earliest opportunity.

Your safety and the safety of our workforce is our primary concern. Therefore, Traffic Management Officers supplied with CCTV cameras will be present during the works to assist you as the site operations progress .
