Temporary Road Closure

CHESHIRE EAST BOROUGH COUNCIL – NOTICE OF TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE – S14 (2) ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Cheshire East Borough Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers issues this notice temporarily to prohibit traffic in the following length of road:-

Grimshaw Lane, Bollington Ward, Macclesfield, SK10 5 from the junction of Hurst Lane to the junction of Chancery Lane.

Hurst Lane, Bollington Ward, Macclesfield, SK10 5 from the junction of Grimshaw Lane to the junction of Gleave Avenue.

The alternative route 1 will be via the following streets: – Grimshaw Lane, Wellington Road, Palmerston Street, Church Street, Lord Street, Chancery Lane

The alternative route 2 will be via the following streets: – Hurst Lane, Palmerston Street, Church Street, Lord Street, Chancery Lane

Pedestrian / cyclist access to any premises situated within the temporary closure will be maintained at all times. Vehicular access will be maintained for emergency vehicles and residents where possible

The closure is necessary for Cheshire East Highways to carry out carriageway improvements.

It is anticipated that the works will take place on the following date(s): Monday 24th October 2022 to Friday 28th October 2022.

This notice will become operative on Monday 24th February 2023 for a period of 5 days or for such less time as is necessary to enable the works to be completed.
