The Committee System
Full council appoints committees of 6 Councillors to concentrate on specific functions of the Council and to make recommendations or decisions on its behalf.
Committee members are appointed at Full Council every year at the beginning of the Council year. Each committee has a chair who is elected at the first meeting.
Working groups and Task groups are set up for a short term purpose. They are not subject to the strict rules that apply to formal council meetings.
Planning and Town Development Committee
Considers and provides a formal observation on planning applications in Bollington including highway issues, licensing, tree preservations and signage. It recommends spending of S106 and CIL monies, and responds to consultations from Cheshire East Council and other statutory bodies.
Meetings will be held monthly, twelve times per year

Finance and Audit Committee
Responsible for the management and oversight of all matters relating to the council finances. It determines the Council’s spending priorities and recommends the annual budget to Council. The Finance Committee can approve grants to local organisations for the benefit of the people of Bollington.

Facilities Committee
Responsible for the council’s facilities, assets and service provision.
Meetings will be held four times per year.

Community and Environment Committee
Responsible for all community and environmental matters, including events.

Personnel, Policy and Governance Committee
Responsible for the oversight of all staffing matters, including recruitment and staff management and the management and oversight of all matters relating to the council’s, policies and governance.
