Structure and purpose of working groups

Compared to Committee meetings, Working Groups are more informal.

Working Groups:

  • focus on specific issues or tasks and make recommendations to the Committees they report to.
  • do not make decisions.
  • comprised of Councillors, appointed members of the public or appointed representatives of local organisations.

 

Corporate Plan

Reviews the Council’s Corporate Plan for achieving its purpose, values, objectives and key priorities for a three year period.

Terms of Reference

Meetings will be set by the Working Group.

Events Working Group

Identify new events, review and plan existing events and civic functions to ensure they operate smoothly and align with Council values.

Town Hall Improvement Project Management Working Group

To oversee the implementation of the now-approved phase 1 of the Town Hall Improvement programme, and to refine proposals for phases 2 and 3 of the programme with a view to presenting them in due course to Full Council for approval.

Terms of Reference

Meetings will be set by the Working Group.
